An interview with Gina B.
Gina B. is a Nursing major with a Spanish for Healthcare minor. The Costa Rica Nursing program was a perfect fit for her. “The program really helped me to understand Latino culture and gave me the chance to practice my Spanish!”
Gina’s favorite experience while in Costa Rica was having a host brother. “I had never had a brother, and he made me feel like true family while I was there.” Most weeknights she spent with her host family, eating dinner, watching TV, and playing games.
On the weekends, there was time to explore the rest of Costa Rica. In Gina’s
opinion, “There are so many cost-efficient places to travel to and all of them are worth a good weekend trip!” Some of the places Gina visited include Guanacaste, Monteverde Cloud Forest, Punta Arenas, Manuel Antonio National Park, and Montezuma.
When asked how this experience impacted her life, Gina said, “I am much more culturally aware of what the world around me has the offer.” The hardest part for Gina? “Eight weeks is just long enough to become accustomed to the Costa Rican culture, so the hardest part was leaving!”
