Plan Ahead...
As a history student, you can study abroad during almost any semester in your college career. And with opportunities for multiple elective credits in the major, you can study abroad and make progress towards your degree. History students in the College of Education and Human Sciences should begin planning for study abroad with their advisers as soon as possible. All history students should discuss study abroad options with your adviser and the department chair.
Freshman
The best time to start planning for study abroad is your freshman year. You will probably want to take at least one history course in preparation for taking additional courses abroad.
Sophomore
The majority of UW-Eau Claire students study abroad as sophomores. You can fulfill both general education requirements and history major requirements.
Junior
Nearly as many students study abroad as juniors. Now you may be more focused on upper division history courses or electives.
Senior
You can still study abroad during your senior year, although you will need to choose your location carefully to ensure that you can take specific classes you need for graduation.
