College Freethought Society
College Freethought Constitution

This organization was officially recognized in November of 2003.

Freethought is a philosophy that holds that beliefs should be formed on the basis of reason and logic supported by evidence, and should not be influenced by authority, tradition, or any other dogma. Freethinkers generally include atheists, agnostics, and secular humanists and any other group ascribing to this philosophy.

The purpose of this organization will be to educate the public on freethought and increase public awareness of this philosophy. We desire to create a campus community of freethinkers for the purpose of assembly and social support as well as creating a more secular campus. We will work on issues involving the separation of church and state, and others best decided by rational argument (e.g. topics involving medical science like stem cell research), providing a forum for the discussion of these issues from a freethought perspective.
