Decoration of Honor in Gold
Ada Smalley Bors — creator of the Annual Viennese Ball and the program’s coordinator through its silver anniversary — was honored October 28, 1995, with a Decoration of Honor in Gold for Services to the Republic of Austria. Dr. Gerald Kriechbaum, Austrian Consul General – Chicago, presented the award for bringing Austrian tradition and culture to the United States through the presentation of the Annual Viennese Ball, and building bridges of understanding between our two countries.

The Decoration of Honor in Gold was presented at the Austrian National Day Celebration at the Palmer House in Chicago. The Singing Statesmen performed at the special invitation of the Consul General.
