Founded in 1974 and presented annually by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the Viennese Ball is a formal event that recalls the cultural and musical heritage of 19th-century Vienna. Proceeds from the Viennese Ball and contributions to the Viennese Ball Endowment Fund have provided more than $1 million in music, service and international study awards for deserving University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students.
Viennese Ball Senior Music Awards
Made for talent, academic achievement and contributions to the music and theatre arts department. Six awards annually.
Ada Bors Music Service Award
Awarded to a senior student for outstanding service to the music and theatre arts department. This award is named in recognition of Ada Bors for her 25 years as originator and coordinator of the Viennese Ball. One award annually.
Noble Statesmen Award
Recipients of this award must bring musical leadership to the ensemble and display character both in the ensemble and on campus. Recipients must be a returning member to The Singing Statesmen in the year following the receipt of the Noble Statesmen Award.
Viennese Ball Music Scholarships
Talent scholarships awarded to incoming freshmen in the music and theatre arts department by vote of faculty; annual scholarship, number and amount varies, based on competitive audition. Music scholarships awarded by faculty of the music and theatre arts department; annual scholarship, number and amount varies, based on academic achievement. Approximately 25 awards annually.

Wilhelm & Ingrid Brauner Award
Awarded for international study preferably in Austria or another German-speaking country for outstanding academic achievement and service to the University of Wisconsin-
Eau Claire. This award is named in recognition of Wilhelm and Ingrid Brauner of the Austrian government, whose efforts were significant in the development of the Viennese Ball. Annual award, number and amount varies, criteria established by Center for International Education.
Heinz K. Seitinger Scholarship
Awarded to exchange students from Karl-Franzens-Universität-Graz, for study at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. This award is named in recognition of service by former Austrian Trade Commissioner Heinz K. Seitinger on behalf of our international programs, particularly those between UW-Eau Claire and his alma mater, the University of Graz.
