Spanning the road that connects the upper and lower campus, Hilltop Center is home to Riverview Café, the primary contract dining facility on campus. An extensive renovation in 2012 expanded the cafeteria to comprise the entire second floor of the building. Up to 7,000 meals are served in Riverview Café each day.
Smoking is prohibited on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus except in designated areas and on city-owned streets that run through campus. Hilltop Center is smoke-free; smoking is permitted only at the loading dock east of the building.
Constructed in 1968, Hilltop Center was designed by Durrant Deininger Dommer Kramer Gordon (now The Durrant Group) architects and engineers of Watertown, Wisconsin.
