Study for Woodland Counterpoint

Study for Woodland Counterpoint (1984) is an oak-framed bronze wall relief that contrasts a Ho-Chunk design with impressions of white oak leaves and bark. A preliminary study for the large-scale cast bronze wall relief Woodland Counterpoint, the sculpture hangs in the Ho-Chunk Room, Davies Center 320E.

Robert J. Gehrke is a painter and sculptor who received his bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1973.
