Bronze, nickel bronze, oak
27" × 25" × 4"

Songbirds (1995) is a bronze relief sculpture that depicts a bird's-eye view of the Eau Claire river system. It was commissioned in duplicate to honor Johannes Dahle for his 29 years of service to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The work was created by Robert J. Gehrke, an artist who received his bachelor of fine arts degree from UW-Eau Claire in 1973.

One sculpture was presented to Dahle on his retirement. A duplicate piece was installed in Davies Center to recognize Dahle's years as director of University Centers (1966–1984) and as executive director of the University Foundation and director of development and university relations.

Commissioned by the leadership of UW-Eau Claire, the University Foundation, the Alumni Board and the development and university relations staff, Songbirds hangs in the Alumni Room, Davies Center 350.
