Supervisory Management 3

Supervisory Management 1, Supervisory Management 2, and Supervisory Management 3 provide an overview of how to manage people. We strongly recommend that new supervisors and managers take the three seminars in sequence, as discussion topics in Supervisory Management 2 and Supervisory Management 3 build upon concepts covered in previous sessions.

Supervisory Management 3

Communicating clear, specific expectations to your people is critical to operational effectiveness. This third seminar pulls key concepts from the first two seminars and focuses on how to provide meaningful feedback. We discuss both the day-to-day coaching on specific task issues, as well as the periodic performance assessment and development concerns. We evaluate why resistance to performance assessment is common for both supervisors and employees. We also discuss how to establish job expectations, as well as to conduct face-to-face coaching sessions.

Our instructors are skilled management trainers who know what it means to be on the supervisory “firing line.” Small group formats provide ample opportunity for you to work with other participants on case studies, role-plays, and discussion of how to apply what you learn when you return to your job.

Who Should Attend

Our workshops are designed for managers with supervisory responsibilities. The concepts and skills taught are also relevant to all who work with people in a team environment. Whether you own your own small business, or work in an office, agency, health care facility, or manufacturing plant, you will find the seminars applicable in your environment.

"The skills that helped me the most were twofold, the first being the Supervisory Management Program helped me make the transition from 30 years of being a computer techie to being an able and skillful manager.

The second is that after taking the series, I was better able to deal with difficult people in a constructive way. I had a tendency to blow up and really come down on the transgressor. I was directing my anger to the person and not the deed.

After the series, I realized that you don't have to take personal shots at a staff member. You address the problem, not the person."
