NEW! Graphic Novel Mania
Grades 3-5 | Maria Berseth
Create your own graphic novel in this literature and art class! Not quite a novel, not quite a comic strip - graphic novels are a unique way to tell a story. For your project, you'll use a comic strip graphic organizer to lay out your design. Then we'll look at the story features of graphic novels and how they are different from regular novels. As we put together our own stories, we'll discover how we can communicate what's happening with so few words and how to help readers infer what's coming next. At the end of class, you'll take home the start of your very own graphic novel!

How has school district tuition reimbursement changed since last year? The Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls school districts are now selecting specific Summer Institute classes that will be tuition-free for district students as part of each district's Summer School programming. For these pre-approved classes, $70 tuition per class will be covered for resident families up to three classes per student.
