Screenwriting for the Film Industry

with Dr. Wil Denson (1 CEU)

Whether you are someone interested in potentially working in the film industry or you are a movie buff with a keen interest in the creative process behind script writing, you’ll find a great deal to capture your imagination in this workshop.  In the highly specialized field of screenwriting, it is essential that scripts conform to industry standards and achieve a particular level of competence.  As always, the “bottom line” in script writing remains great story telling, but the stories must be told in ways dramatically different from traditional narratives.  In this workshop, you will gain insight into constructing plots, creating characters, developing scenes and honing dialogue.  Also, you will learn about the practical realities of writing for the film industry: saleable ideas, structure, character writing, format and marketing.  Here is your chance to learn from someone who has years of experience in working with the film industry.
