Business FAQs

  • Will my participation in business seminars count towards a university degree?

Maybe. A few credit programs accept non-credit “life experiences” towards degree completion. If you are registered in a non-traditional degree program which accepts non-credit educational experiences, we will provide the documentation of learning objectives and content which are usually required by your institution.

  • If I attend Supervisory Management 1 in La Crosse, may I attend Supervisory Management 2 or 3 in Eau Claire?

Yes. Pick your seminars based on the dates which best fit your schedule.

  • What is the timeframe for completion of the requirements for the Supervisory Management Certificate Program?

Five years. If you need to extend this deadline, please contact Marilyn Kanne, program manager, at 715-836-5811 or CE@uwec.edu.

  • May I take just one of the Supervisory Management seminars, without making a commitment to register for the full certificate program?

Yes. Choose the seminar which best fits your needs.

  • One part of a seminar would be an excellent in-house presentation for our company—can that be arranged?

Usually. If the seminar segment stands on its own merit as an instructional unit, and if the instructor is available for brief presentations, we will design a presentation for you. Most of our seminars can be customized for in-house presentations.

  • We implemented LEAN principles in our company. But we need a refresher on some of the key concepts. Can a short training session be designed specifically for us?

Yes! Recently, for example, we presented several 90-minute refresher classes on “Root Cause Analysis.”

  • We would like customized training presented in-house, but the topic is not on your schedule of public seminars. Can you develop training to meet our needs?

Most likely. We have access to faculty from throughout the University of Wisconsin system. We also have a network of private consultants and the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network members as resources. Contact us and we’ll discuss your situation and how we might address it.
