Basics of the BDP

Goals of the Baccalaureate Degree

The faculty expect that graduates will have:

  • An understanding of a liberal eduaction
  • An appreciation of the university as a learning community
  • Ability to inquire, think, analyze
  • Ability to write, read, speak, listen
  • An understanding of numerical data
  • An historical consciousness
  • International and intercultural experiences
  • An understaning of science and the scientific method
  • An appreciation of the arts
  • An understanding of values
  • Understanding of human behavior and human institutions

Components of the Degree

Slight adjustments to the all - University requirements exist among the various colleges of the university and among the degree programs within each college. Degree programs in the College of Arts and Sciences include the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Music, and Bachelor of Music Therapy.
