If the Curriculum Committee rejects a proposal, it cannot come before the Committee again until the following semester.
The Committee will not consider any major revision(s) to a course unless the course is current with the Course Update Schedule or unless the course update is submitted at the same time as the major course revision.
2007-2008 Schedule:
| ACTION | DEADLINE DATE | COMMITTEE CONSIDERATION |
| Preliminary proposals to Arts & Sciences for review | October 2, 2007 | - |
| Finalized proposals to meet the deadline for publication in the 2008-09 Catalogue. | October 9, 2007 | Meetings through October 18, 2007 |
| Finalized proposals to be acted on by the end of the academic year | April 30, 2008 | Meetings through May 8, 2008 |
Proposals will be placed on the agenda in the order received but no more than 30 items per meeting.
Each Committee member will receive the agenda and all proposals approximately one week in advance of the meeting. If a member questions any item, the member will contact Astie Nilsen at 836-3152 or nilsena@uwec.edu and indicate which agenda item(s) and the section(s) that is/are being questioned. The deadline is NOON the day before the scheduled meeting. Objections can be raised at the meeting, but this call-in procedure is to allow for notification of Department Chairs in advance.
Chairs or representatives of the departments should anticipate being present at the meeting to support their proposals if requested. The Chair and the faculty member(s) preparing the proposal will be expected to attend only if requested to do so by the Associate Dean’s Office the day before the scheduled meeting.
Items on an agenda that have not been questioned in advance by a member of the Committee will either (a) be passed without the need to have a departmental representative(s) present or (b) be postponed to a later meeting in order to allow for consultation with the Department Chair.
Approved course actions are effective after publication in the Catalogue. Exceptions are granted upon written request to and approval by the Associate Dean of the College.
