The Department of Psychology at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science offers the Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and M.S. in Clinical Counseling degrees. Both lead to licensure for the practice of psychology. The Department subscribes to the Scientist-Practitioner model of learning and stresses empirically supported assessment and intervention techniques. The Department of Nursing graduate program offers Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree options, in addition to post-master’s degree certificates. MSN students specialize in adult or family health nursing and select a role preparation in advanced clinical practice (nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist), nursing education, or nursing administration. The DNP is a clinical doctorate intended for nurses assuming leadership roles in the areas of advanced clinical practice or nursing administration. During the first two years of the program (2010-2011, 2011-2012), the DNP will be offered as a post-master’s option only. Beginning in 2012-2013, both MSN-to-DNP and BSN-to-DNP options will be available.
