Blugold Career Network is a searchable database of alumni and friends of UW-Eau Claire who have volunteered to be a resource for you.

You can use the database to

• browse and see what graduates have done with their majors
• learn about the career path someone else took to reach the job of your dreams
• set up informational interviews to learn more
• arrange for a job shadow

By contacting professionals in the field you can

• explore your goals and career options while making connections to professionals in your field
• learn more about career paths, different areas of the country, industries, and companies
• find out what a day in the life is like for someone in a specific job

Demonstrate your professionalism and build your professional network by

• becoming familiar with the informational interview process and prepare in advance the questions that will be asked during the meeting.
• arriving (or calling) at the agreed upon time
• dress appropriately: business casual or more professional, depending on the alumni’s career field.  Typically, formal interview attire is not necessary.
• following up the interview with a thank you note, which may be either typed or handwritten. This needs to be mailed within 24 hours of the interview.
