Hello and welcome to the Beta Upsilon Sigma website! Thank you for your interest in our organization. We invite you to browse this website to recognize how joining B.U.S. can aid you in your ever ongoing quest to becoming a successful business-savvy professional.
With over 150 members, Beta Upsilon Sigma is the largest student organization on campus, and is continuously growing. B.U.S. members represent a diverse range of majors from Finance to Public Relations. All members are linked through their dedication to gaining communication and interpersonal skills that are not developed in a classroom and are imperative for a successful and rewarding career in these modern times. We have 15 Executive Board committees that provide approximately 60 of our members the unique opportunity to utilize their skills in a variety of circumstances, including creating charitable events for our community, coordinating entertaining events for our members, and designing our bi-weekly newsletter, among a vast assortment of alternatives. (Click “Committees” at the top of the page to learn more).
Beta Upsilon Sigma is responsible for planning, organizing, and running Career Conference, an annual career fair with over 115 attending employers. By participating in the event, our members have the great fortune of creating relationships with employers in a plethora of fields, allowing them to expand their network and allowing countless Blugolds the pleasure of gaining internships and post-graduation employment.
Along with providing opportunities to our members and our peers, Beta Upsilon Sigma members provide a great service to the members and organizations in our community. Each semester our members total over 1000 hours of community service, with numerous members fulfilling half of their 30 hour-Service Learning requirement for graduation. Each year we hold a fundraising golf tournament for the Arc of Eau Claire, a center focused on helping students with disabilities, this year’s donations are projected at $2500. We also participate in the Polar Plunge each year for the past 10 years, the only university organization to do so. Along with these causes, B.U.S. helps community organizations including the Children’s Museum, Adopt-A-Highway, Oakwood and Mount Washington retirement homes, Eau Claire Regional Art Center, and many more.
By becoming a member of Beta Upsilon Sigma and participating in the events and opportunities offered, you will gain the essential skills sought by employers. More importantly, you will gain unforgettable friends and endless memories.
