Handouts and Assignments:

09/04: Measurements Handout

09/11: Math Problem Set

please note a typo on #8; it should read dm3 (cubic decimeters, NOT dl3 (cubic deciliters), which won't work!

09/16: Post-Lab Report #1: Intro Exercises - due Friday Sept. 19th

09/30: Post-Lab Report #2: Gases - due Tuesday Oct. 7th

In Silberberg (your textbook), read the following:
5.1: “An Overview of the Physical States of Matter”
Text on pp. 191-192: “Units of Pressure”
5.3: “The Gas Laws and Their Experimental Foundations” (with an emphasis on pp. 198-199)
5.6: “The Kinetic-Molecular Theory: A Model for Gas Behavior” up through the end of p. 215
(including sidebar on p. 215, “Preparing Nuclear Fuel”)

On a separate page, write the solutions to questions: 5.1, 5.14(a,c), 5.28, 5.33, 5.64, 5.65, 5.71(a-b), and 5.72(a-b) from the end of the chapter; if appropriate, show your work!

10/01 - 10/06:  Post-Lab Report #3: Periodic - due in lab

10/09: Orbital Energy Calculations Worksheet

10/21: Periodic Trends Overview

10/27: Post-Lab Report #4: Ionic - due Tuesday Nov. 4th

NOTE: solubility tests summary (for lab report)

11/25: Post-Lab Report #5: Stoichiometry - due Thursday, Dec. 4th

11/25: Stoichiometry Worksheet

12/09: Post-Lab Report #6 - due Monday, December 15th

NOT LATER THAN 5:00 PM at my office

(don't forget to turn in Modeling-20 from the lab manual, stapled to the report form, as stated in the last question)
