Welcome to UW-Eau Claire's Blugold Seminar in Critical Reading and Writing, a new version of the first-year composition course (ENGL 110 and ENGL 112). The Blugold Seminar is a writing-intensive and inquiry-based approach to college-level research and writing. The course grounds students in the reading, writing, and rhetorical demands necessary for success at UW-Eau Claire and beyond.
Watch the video below to see some of the exciting changes to the Blugold Seminar.
Each professor teaching the Blugold Seminar will select a theme, broad topic or overarching question to focus on. Though the theme will vary across all sections, all Blugold Seminars share the same course goals, as well as many of the same reading and writing assignments.
Blugold Seminar sections for Spring and Summer 2013 can be found on the Course Sections page.
The Blugold Seminar is made possible by significant funding from Blugold Commitment Differential Tuition. The Blugold Commitment is a partnership of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends to preserve and enhance the high-quality UW-Eau Claire experience, and students have played a significant role in the Blugold Commitment process. The Blugold Seminar is one of the ways the Blugold Commitment is making a difference in students' undergraduate education.
