According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, more than 400 species of plants, 100 species of birds in summer, 23 mammal species, and 6 reptiles, including the prairie skink, have been recorded within the park. It is also the best place to birdwatch in Eau Claire, with notable species including Bald Eagles, Tufted Titmice, Pine Warblers, Ringbilled Gulls, Purple Finches and Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers.
