HUMBACH WINS STEEPLE CHASE AT NCAA QUALIFIER

LA CROSSE – UW-Eau Claire’s Hannah Humbach (Fr.-Madison/Abundant Life) won the 3,000-meter steeple chase as several Blugold competitors participated at the NCAA Qualifier held here today at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

Humbach won the event with a season-best time of 11:22.60. Claudia Borlee (Jr.-Green Bay/Preble) finished second behind Humbach posting a time of 12:19.40. Julia Gieschen (Fr.-Eagle River/Northland Pines) finished third with a time of 13:34.46.

Steph Barnes (Sr.-Sauk City/Sauk Prairie) placed third in the pole vault clearing a height of 11-10.75. Chelsea Becker (Sr.-Rice Lake) finished fourth clearing a season-best 11-5.75.

The Blugolds will compete at the Augustana Last Chance Meet in Rock Island, Illinois tomorrow. Action is set to begin at 12:00 P.M.
