WOMEN’S TRACK COMPETES AT NORTH CENTRAL, OSHKOSH MEETS
OSHKOSH – The UW-Eau Claire women’s track and field team competed at the site of the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Championships when they traveled to J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium to compete at the UW-Oshkosh Last Chance Meet. Two competitors also traveled to North Central College in Naperville, Illinois to compete at the Dr. Keeler Invitational led by Molly Warner (Jr.-Mosinee), who finished fifth in the 10,000-meter run in an NCAA provisional time of 37:21.24. At Oshkosh four different individuals won events led by Jessica Owens (So.-Elm Grove/Brookfield East) won the high jump with an NCAA provisional qualifying and season-best effort of 5-6.5. Owens currently ranks seventh nationally with her 5-6.5 performance. Paula Crossfield (Sr.-Madison/East) and Amy Morse (So.-Kaukauna) both recorded provisional qualifying throws in the discus. Crossfield popped a throw of 145-3 to improve from 13th to ninth nationally. Morse had a season-best toss of 137-5 to record her first-ever provisional qualifying throw. Hannah Humbach (Fr.-Madison/Abundant Life) won the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:17.45. Cassie Haak (Sr.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View) won the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:43.72. Bridget Bocher (Sr.-Watertown) went on to win the 3,000-meter steeple chase finishing the race in 11:45.13. Up next the Blugolds will travel to La Crosse on Thursday, May 17 to compete in the UW-La Crosse Last Chance Meet. Action is set to begin at 4:00 P.M.
