WOMEN’S TRACK PARTICIPATES AT OSHKOSH INVITE
OSHKOSH – The UW-Eau Claire women’s track team had several top finishes at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational today, even though no team results were kept. There were four Blugold champions. Bridget Bocher (Sr.-Watertown) took the 3000-meter steeplechase with an 11:44.89 time. Mary Palmer (So.-Anoka, MN) finished in first in the 1500-meter run on a 4:59.52 effort. Jessica Owens (So.-Elm Grove/Brookfield East) won the high jump on a mark of 1.63 meters (5’ 4 ¼”). Ellie Lutz (So.-Eau Claire/Memorial) won the 10,000-meter run on a 43:04.03 time. She was the only competitor, however. Several other Blugolds took third. Paula Crossfield (Sr.-Madison/East) had a discus throw of 39.45 meters (129’ 5”). Tonya White (Fr.-Byron, MN) leapt 5.39 meters (17’ 8 ¼”) in the long jump. Chelsea Becker (Sr.-Rice Lake) had a showing of 3.36 meters (11’ ¼”) in the pole vault. There were some others who finished fourth. Natalie Hejny (So.-Maplewood, MN/North St. Paul) grabbed fourth in the 400-meter dash while clocking in at 60.85. The 4x400-meter relay team finished in 4:11.88. Briana Berg (Fr.-Arcadia) ran a 12.89 100-meter dash. A few more Blugolds also found their way to the top five. Jenna Smith (Fr.-Robbinsdale, MN/Cooper) had a 2:25.50 800-meter run. Karlee Sweere (Jr.-Potter/Hilbert) put together a 31.73-meter (104’ 1”) effort in the javelin throw. Hayley Suckow (Fr.-Elk Mound) measured at 3.21 meters (10’ 6 ¼”) for the pole vault. Alicia Schuelke (So.-Gilman) went 1.53 meters (5’ ¼”) in the high jump. After a very busy weekend, the Blugolds head to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Championships in River Falls next weekend. Results- PH -
