WOMEN’S TRACK WINS THREE EVENTS AT MANITOU CLASSIC
NORTHFIELD, MN – The UW-Eau Claire women’s track team won three events and posted eight top-three individual place winners at the Manitou Classic hosted here today at Manitou Field on the St. Olaf (MN) College campus. Liz Faller (Sr.-Marinette) took first place in both the 100 and 400-meter hurdles, winning both events with NCAA provisional efforts. Faller finished the 100 hurdles in a time of 14.51 seconds while establishing a season-best time in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:03.44. Liz Kooistra (So.-Lakeville, MN) won the 400-meter dash for the second consecutive meet, finishing the race in 56.91 seconds. Steph Barnes (Sr.-Sauk City/Sauk Prairie) placed second in the pole vault clearing a provisional height of 12-0. Teammate Hayley Suckow (Fr.-Elk Mound) tied for third place clearing 11-0.25. Hannah Humbach (Fr.-Madison/Abundant Life) finished second in the 3,000-meter steeple chase clocking in at 11:35.59. Jessica Owens (So.-Elm Grove/Brookfield East) earned second place honors in the high jump clearing 5-3.25. Paula Crossfield (Sr.-Madison/East) placed third in the discus with a toss of 126-8. The Blugold 4 x 400-meter relay team finished second completing the race in 3:59.46. The 4 x 100-meter relay placed fourth clocking in at 49.87 seconds. Up next the Blugolds will split it squad sending competitors to both the Drake Relays and the Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Michigan. Competition for both meets will take place both Friday and Saturday on April 27-28. Complete Results
