OWENS NAMED WIAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON – UW-Eau Claire high jumper Jessica Owens (So.-Elm Grove/Brookfield East) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced yesterday by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

Owens placed second in the high jump improving her provisional qualifying distance at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Feb. 17. Her leap of 5-5 1/4 is the eight-best jump in Division III this season and the best in the WIAC this year.
