WRESTLING READY FOR FIRST HOME MEET
EAU CLAIRE – The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team hosts conference foe Lawrence University Tuesday in one of four home meets the team has. Eau Claire is 6-2 overall on the year while going 1-0 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) competition. The Vikings have yet to participate in a dual meet this season, but have been in two tournaments. They took fourth of eight at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invite. Joey Miller (Jr.-Lake Tomahawk/Lakeland Union) has the best record for Eau Claire, going 10-1 at 174 pounds. Andy Miller (So.-Appleton/North) has gone 10-2 in the 133 pound weight class. Lance Valiquette (Sr.-Auburn, WA) is 8-3 at 157 pounds. Heavyweight Justin McAuly (Sr.-Clintonville) has four pins to lead for the Blugolds. At 165 pounds and 5-1, Sam Laes possesses the best Viking record. Joe Austin at 184 pounds is 4-1. The action is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow in the McPhee Physical Education Building.
