WRESTLING PICKS UP THREE WINS AT LAKELAND DUALS
SHEBOYGAN – The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team won three of its four duals today as it kicked off its season at the Lakeland Duals. It defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering 28-12, lost to Coe College 6-35, beat Concordia 45-3 and finished up with a 54-0 victory over Lincoln Christian. In the MSOE dual, six different individuals won. Shane Brady (So.-Chetek) won 4-1, Lance Valiquette (Sr.-Auburn, WA) won 7-2, Joe Erickson (So.-Jim Falls/Cornell) took his match 9-3, Nick Hoeft (Jr.-Merrill) defeated his opponent 10-2 and Justin McAuly (Sr.-Clintonville) pinned his opponent. Only two wrestlers won against Coe. Dave Vanevenhoven (Sr.-Appleton/Kaukauna) had a 7-3 score while Josh Kasuboski (So.-Wautoma) narrowly won 5-4. There were four Blugold pins against Concordia. They belonged to Dustin Follen (So-Marshfield), Valiquette, Erickson, and McAuly. Pat Senzig (So.-Lydon Station/Mauston) also won 6-1. Eau Claire had three pins in the Lincoln Christian dual. They were collected by Brady, Senzig, and Hoeft. Eau Claire will hit the mats against Itasca Community College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
