BLUGOLD WRESTLERS TAKE FOURTH AT TERRY HAWS INVITE

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team went 2-2 to take fourth place at the Terry Haws Dual Tournament held here today at Sexton Arena on the St. John's University campus.

The Blugolds started off strong with a 24-15 win over an alternate team consisting of wrestlers from St. John's and Minnesota State-Moorhead. Eau Claire earned wins from Paul Lundgren (Fr.-Bloomer), Derek Sikora (So.-Neillsville), Troy Seubert (Sr.-Maple Grove, MN), Larry Moen (Jr.-Madison/East) and Nick Campbell (Sr.-Eden Prairie, MN/Maple Grove).

Eau Claire won their second round match 31-18 over St. Olaf. Dave Vanevenhoven (So.-Kaukauna), Seubert, Campbell and Sikora all earned pin fall victories while Lundgren and Moen also earned wins.

The Blugolds lost to eventual champion MSU-Moorhead 29-15 in the third round. Vanevenhoven, Sikora, Seubert and Campbell all earned wins with Vanevenhoven earning his second pin fall victory.

Eau Claire fell to Southwest State 27-15 in the third place match to earn fourth. Sikora, Seubert and Campbell all won to go 4-0 on the day with Eric Sommer (Fr.-Neenah) also adding a win.

The Blugolds will be in action next when they travel to Appleton to wrestle Lawrence University Friday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
