SCHULTZ COLLECTS WOMEN'S HOCKEY AWARDS

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team held its banquet recently with Amanda Schultz (Sr.-Stevens Point/SPASH) taking home both the Blugold Award and the Student-Athlete Award.

Schultz collected many accolades this season despite missing eight games due to a knee injury. The forward was nominated as an honorable mention to the All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) team for the third time. The student-athlete aspect of Schultz was shown through her third selection to the All-NCHA Academic Team and also through her impressive selection to the NCHA Scholar-Athlete Award.

Schultz had 17 points in 17 games through 12 goals and five assists. She led the team in goals and was third for points. In the NCHA she tied for 10th in goals and 18th for points as she excelled both on and off the ice through the season.

The team went 7-12-6 overall and 1-8-6 in the NCHA for the 2005-06 season.
