WOMEN'S HOCKEY SET TO HOST PAIR THIS WEEKEND

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team will look to get back track this weekend as it will host Bethel College on Friday night and St. Mary's University on Saturday night.

The Blugolds have a record of 2-9-1 and are coming off a heartbreaking loss to fifth-ranked St. Thomas on Wednesday night, which saw the Tommies score with nine seconds left in overtime to win.

Lauren Havard (Fr.-San Angelo, TX/Arapahoe) and Martina Korinek (Jr.-White Bear Lake, MN) are both in double-figures in points with Havard leading the team with 11 and Korinek with 10. Havard leads the team in goals with seven and Korinek leads the team in assists with seven.

Amanda Schultz (Sr.-Stevens Point/SPASH) has only played in four games, but she has four goals on the season, including two goals against the Tommies.

The Blugolds opponent Friday night, the Bethel Royals, will come in with a 2-5-1 overall record. The Blugolds defeated the Royals in the season opener this season 2-1. The Blugolds scored two goals in the second period to pick up the win in that game. Lisa Kinney and Heidi Govednik lead the Royals in goals this season with six apiece.

The Blugolds will face St. Mary's on Saturday night. It will also be Youth Night at Hobbs Ice Center. The Cardinals have a 2-5-2 record this season. The Blugolds lost to St. Mary's in the second game of the season, losing 5-1. Amy Madden leads the Cardinals in points with seven.

Friday night's game against Bethel will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday's game against St. Mary's will also begin at 7 p.m. Both games will take place at Hobbs Ice Center.
