WOMEN'S GOLF COMES UP BIG AT CARTHAGE INVITATIONAL
KANSASVILLE - Today at Brighton Dale Links Golf Course the Eau Claire team took second overall out of 11 teams. Eau Claire hit a collective 339 and 51 overall for their second-place finish, but conference rival UW-Oshkosh hit 326 and 38 over par to claim the top spot. Also in the top five were Illinois Wesleyan University at 340, Robert Morris College at 351 and Carthage College tying with UW-Whitewater at fifth with 356 strokes per team. Meghan Sobotta (So.-Arcadia) continued her impressive play by claiming the top individual spot with her 78 and 6 over par performance. Jesse Thompson (Jr.-Plover/SPASH) was second on the squad and had a tie for eighth as she hit 83. Maggie Loney (Sr.-River Falls) hit 86 for the day which earned her a tie for 15th. The final point scorer for the Blugolds was Kim Huber (So.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) as she had 92 strokes and a tie for 28th. The Blugolds are now 35-6 on the year. Next for Eau Claire is a two-day tournament at Whitewater, which starts tomorrow. Final Results - PH -
