WOMEN'S GOLF WITH SECOND PLACE FINISH AT KNOX INVITE

GALESBURG, IL - The Eau Claire women's golf team placed second out of 16 in the one-day Knox College Invitational here today at the Soangetaha Country Club

Illinois Wesleyan won the one-day event with a score of 321. The Blugolds were seven strokes behind them with 328 followed by Robert Morris College with 337, Truman State University shooting 341 and Carthage College and Illinois College tying for fifth with a 344.

UW-Eau Claire placed well on the individual side with three out of the top seven. Meghan Sobotta (So.-Arcadia) shot four over par at 76 to place second overall. She missed the top spot held by Robert Morris College's Jill Franz by one stroke. In fourth place was Jessica Thompson (Jr.-Plover/SPASH) with a 78 and 6 over par and Maggie Loney (Sr.-River Falls) tied for seventh overall with her 82 shots and 10 over par.

The Blugolds next golf at the two-day UW-Oshkosh Invitational tomorrow and Sunday.
