LONEY ALL-AMERICAN, RAWDON REGION COACH OF THE YEAR
CHICAGO, IL - UW-Eau Claire women's golfer Maggie Loney (So.-River Falls) received honorable mention All-American Status while head coach John Rawdon was named Region 3 Coach of the Year, it was announced recently by National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) executive director Roger Yaffe.
Loney earned honorable mention accolades tying for seventh place with a four-day score of 322 at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship held at the Golf Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Loney led the Blugolds in scoring average in 2004 with an 81.35. Individually Loney place in the top nine in 10 of 11 events this season.
Rawdon received Region 3 Coach of the Year honors after leading the Blugolds to a fifth place finish at the NCAA Championships. The finish was the best finish by a UW-Eau Claire team in school history. Rawdon has led the Blugolds to the 10-team championship event in each of his three seasons as head coach.
