WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TAKES FIRST AT ST. OLAF INVITE
NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country took first place in the St. Olaf Invitational Cross Country Meet held here this past weekend.
Melissa Wright (Sr.-Appleton/Kimberly) led all Blugold runners with a time of 23:40 to finish sixth overall. Teammate Jennifer Warmke (So.-Black River Falls) was right behind at 23:48 to finish seventh.
Rachel Anderson (So.-St. Paul, MN/Harding) and Nikki Johnson (Sr.-St. Cloud, MN/Cathedral) were next across the finish line for the Blugolds. Anderson finished 15th with a time of 24:09 and Johnson finished 20th with a time of 24:14.
Rounding out the Blugold runners were Heather Lipinski (Jr.-Thorp) with a time of 24:30, Jeanine Twomey (So.-Blaine, MN/Spring Lake Park) in 24:32 and Kasey Stanek (So.-La Crosse/Central) in 24:55.
Eau Claire will be in action tomorrow when they travel to Minneapolis to compete in the Roy Griak Invite. The race is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
