WOMEN RUNNERS FINISH EIGHTH AT TORI NEUBAUER INVITE

WEST SALEM - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team finished in eighth place out of 22 teams competing here today at the Tori Neubauer Invitational at the Maple Grove Country Club.

Jane Ovanin (So-Amherst) once again led the way for the Blugolds, finishing ninth overall out of 318 runners. She covered the 5,000 meter course in 18:59.5. Missy Paulson (So-Birnamwood/Wittenberg-Birn) finished second on the Eau Claire team and 28th overall with a time of 19:24.1. Melissa Wright (Jr-Appleton/Kimberly) finished third for the Blugolds and 56th overall.

The Blugolds will travel to Lake Wissota on Friday to compete with Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout. The meet is set to start at 4:00 p.m.
