TWO BLUGOLDS EARN ALL-WIAC HONORS FOR WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
MADISON - UW-Eau Claire women's basketball players Heidi Arciszewski (Fr.-Thorp, WI) and Rachel Becker (Sr.-Gilmanton, WI) each received honorable mention selections for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) All-Conference team it was announced by conference sports information director Matt Stanek. This is the second straight year that Becker has been an all-conference selection as she was a first team selection last year. This season Becker led the team in assists with 115 and was third in the conference with 4.42 assists per game. Becker finishes her career sixth on the all-time assists leaders list for the Blugolds with 332 Becker also finished second-best in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio as she averaged 1.37 assists per turnover and led the team in steals with 43. Becker was fourth on the team in scoring this season and finishes 23rd on the Blugold all-time scoring list with 711 points. She also finishes 24th all-time in career rebounds with 380. Freshman Heidi Arciszewski receives her first all-conference selection. Arciszewski really stepped up for the Blugolds after the Blugolds lost leading scorer Michelle Burns (So.-Eau Claire, WI/North) in early January. Arciszewski scored in double-figures in 12 of the final 14 games of the season. She averaged 14 points per game during that stretch and led the team in scoring in seven of those games. Arciszewski finished second on the team in steals with 37 and made the most free throws on the team as she made 72. Stout's Kelsey Duoss was named the Conference Player of the Year and both Lois Heeren of La Crosse and Mark Thomas of Stout were named Conference Coaches of the Year. Holly Kaiser of Platteville and Molly Ray of Superior received the Judy Kruckman Co-Scholar-Athlete award. WIAC All-Conference Release - JR -
