Assistant Volleyball Coach - Mike Kren
Mike Kren enters his first season as a student assistant coach for the Blugolds. Kren is also a member of the men's volleyball club team at UWEC.
A native of Neillsville, Kren started playing in local volleyball tournaments when he was 16 years old. After high school, Kren attended UW-Platteville from 2000-2001 and was named 2001 NIRSA Division II All-Tournament 1st Team at the NIRSA Nationals. He was offered a scholarship to play volleyball for Mount Olive College (Div. II) and was on the team from 2003-2005.
Kren then came to UW-Eau Claire in the spring of 2006. During his time at UWEC, he was named the 2007 Northern Intercollegiate Volleyball Conference Player of the Year and also to the NIRSA Division II All-American 1st Team. He helped lead the Blugolds to a third place finish at the NIRSA Nationals, tieing the highest finish in school history.
Over the past couple of years, Kren has also helped out with the Central Wisconsin Volleyball Club.
Kren, a senior at UW-Eau Claire, is a management information systems major.
