SOFTBALL ANNOUNCES TEAM AWARD WINNERS

The UW-Eau Claire softball has announced their team-voted team awards following the annual awards banquet.

The Hot Stick Award went to Jannah Grinnell (Sr.-Delano, MN). Grinnell held down a .299 average while leading the team in home runs with eight and tying for the team-lead in RBIs with 24.

Brenda Westermann (Sr.-Minnetonka, MN) was the recipient of the Golden Glove Award. Westermann had a .921 fielding percentage while leading the team in assists with 109 and also contributing 43 put outs.

Laura Brackey (Fr.-Oakdale, MN/Tartan) was given the Newcomer of the Year Award. Brackey started 30 of the 37 games she played in while batting .214 with seven RBIs.

The Blugold Award was given to Jane Taragos (Sr.-Wayzata, MN). Taragos started all 39 games while batting .230 with a home run and 11 RBIs.
