SCHIESEL NAMED WIAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, Wis. – UW-Eau Claire soccer player Jamie Schiesel (Fr.-Plymouth, MN/Armstrong) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference offensive player of the week, conference spokesman Matt Stanek has announced.

Schiesel helped the Blugolds clinch their third straight WIAC championship with a 6-0 victory over UW-River Falls on Oct. 27. She picked up her third and fourth goals of the season in the contest with the first at the 35:50 mark of the first half off a header from a corner kick to give UW-Eau Claire a 2-0 lead. About five minutes later, Schiesel tallied an unassisted goal.
