SOCCER EARNS FOUR ACADEMIC ALL-REGION SELECTIONS

DELAWARE, OH – Four members of the UW-Eau Claire women’s soccer team have been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 5 Team College Division.

Midfielder Emily Meisinger (Sr.-Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) earned second team honors. An accounting and finance major carrying a 3.43 grade-point average, Meisinger was also named the 2006 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete Award winner. Meisinger is a three-time All-WIAC recipient that earned third team National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/All-Central Region Team.

Three Blugolds were named to the third team led by midfielder Jessica Millard (So.-Madison/La Follette). Millard is a finance major carrying a perfect 4.00 grade-point average.

Defender/midfielder Anna Talbot (Jr.-Apple Valley, MN/Eastview) joins Millard as a third team honoree. Talbot is a communications disorder major carrying a 3.75 grade-point average.

Rounding out the Blugold Academic All-Region honorees is defender Abby Ofstedahl (Jr.-Apple Valley, MN/Eastview). Ofstedahl is an economics major carrying a 3.78 grade-point average.
