TALBOT NAMED WIAC SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON – UW-Eau Claire soccer defender/midfielder Anna Talbot (Jr.-Apple Valley, MN/Eastview) was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced yesterday by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

Talbot helped UW-Eau Claire to a 3-0 victory over St. Scholastica (MN) on Oct. 29 as the Blugolds set a school record for wins in a season with 18. She was matched up against the Saints’ top scorer and helped limit her to just one shot in the contest. Talbot also was credited with an assist on the game-winning goal. UW-Eau Claire earned its 13th shutout of the season and ended St. Scholastica’s 15-match winning streak with the win.
