SOCCER LOOKS TO FINISH UNDEFEATED AT HOME

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team will try to remain undefeated at home as it hosts its final regular season home match this Saturday against UW-Superior at the Bollinger Fields.

The Blugolds so far this season are 7-0 at home. They are 11-1-3 overall and are 5-0-1 in the conference. UW-Superior comes into the match with an 8-7-1 overall record and winless in the conference at 0-7.

Two Blugold seniors will be playing their final regular season home match Saturday. Those seniors are Marcia Foltz (Sr.-Madison/Memorial) and Jill Cope (Sr.-Golden Valley, MN/Hopkins). Foltz is currently having a fabulous season leading the team in goals with seven and assists with eight.

The Blugolds have shown a lot of offensive firepower scoring 12 goals in their past three matches. The Blugolds only had 16 goals total in their first 12 matches. Nine different Blugold members have scored goals this season.

The Blugolds defense continues to impress allowing just eight goals this season on 92 shots. Goalies Allie Rivard (Fr.-Wayzata, MN) and Liz Weirick (So.-Kenosha, WI/Tremper) have combined for 54 saves this season.

The action is set to get underway at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Bollinger Fields.
