SOCCER SET TO HOST RIVER FALLS TUESDAY

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire soccer team will try to improve its conference record to 4-0 as they will host UW-River Falls Tuesday at the Bollinger Fields.

The Blugolds are currently 7-1-2 overall with a 3-0 conference record. The Blugolds are coming off a victory in their last match defeating UW-Oshkosh 1-0. The Blugolds defense has been dynamite this season allowing just four goals in ten matches. The Blugolds have out shot their opponents this season by a margin of 186-62.

Leading the Blugolds in points with nine is senior Marcia Foltz (Sr.-Madison/Memorial). She has three goals and three assists so far this season. Freshmen Liz Kooistra (Fr.-Lakeville, MN) and Amy Smith (Fr.-Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) are each tied for second on the team in points with eight. Amy Smith is the Blugolds' leading goal scorer with four.

Freshman goalkeeper Allie Rivard (Fr.-Wayzata, MN) has stopped 27 shots, while just allowing two goals thus far.

The Falcons come into the match with a record of 9-1 overall and a conference record of 3-1. The Falcons only loss of the season came against UW-Oshkosh. The Falcons are currently tied with the Blugolds for second in the WIAC

The Blugolds have an advantage in the season series between the two teams with a record of 11-5-1. However, the Blugolds lost last year to Falcons 4-1.

The action gets underway Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Bollinger Fields.
