SOCCER TO HOST GUSTAVUS ADOLPHUS

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire soccer will look to add to its winning streak as they will host Gustavus Adolphus Wednesday at the Bollinger Fields.

The Blugolds have won four straight matches after opening the season with a double overtime scoreless tie against Augsburg College. In the four game winning streak, the Blugolds have out scored their opponents 8-1and have out shot them 90-31.

Marcia Foltz (Sr.-Madison, WI/Memorial) leads the Blugolds in points with seven and in assists with three. Goalies Liz Weirick (So.-Kenosha, WI/Tremper) and Allie Rivard (Fr.-Wayzata, MN) have combined for 19 saves, allowing just one to get by them thus far.

The Gusties are coming off a win their last match against Carleton College. The Gusties so far this year are 2-1 against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opponents.

The Gusties are riding a four-match winning streak against the Blugolds. The last meeting between the two teams was back in 1997.

The Blugolds have a record of 4-0-1 on the season and are 2-0 in WIAC competition. The Gusties are 3-2 this season.

The action is scheduled to begin Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the Bollinger Fields.
