Women's Soccer Head Coach - Sean Yengo

Sean Yengo begins his ninth season as head women's soccer coach at UW-Eau Claire. In 1996 Yengo served as an assistant for the Blugolds before becoming the head coach. Yengo also serves as an associate lecture at UW-Eau Claire

The 2002 Blugold team went 17-4-1 and earned the school's first-ever national ranking, appearing as high as 20th in the nation. The 2002 team led the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in goals scored with 82, the third-highest goal total in conference history.

Yengo has built the Blugold program into one of the premiere soccer programs in the Midwest. Over the last seven seasons Yengo has compiled an overall record of 96-55-11. Under Yengo the Blugolds have advanced to the WIAC Tournament Championship match four times. Individually Yengo has coached 33 All-WIAC performers, 26 in the last five seasons. In addition Yengo has coached 10 All-Central Region selections, two WIAC Scholar-Athletes, one All-American and one Academic All-American.

Yengo, whose wife is women's cross country and track & field coach Tracy Yengo, was a varsity soccer player at Cortland State in New York from 1985-89. He was also a soccer coach at Northfield Mount Hermon School in Northfield, Massachusetts from 1992-96. He has been the director of the Blugold soccer camps for the past five years and is involved in various community activities related to soccer.

Yengo received his bachelor's degree in physical education from SUNY-Cortland in 1991 and his master's from Cortland in 1996. While an undergraduate, Yengo was a three-time SUNYAC wrestling champion and two-time All-American.

Besides coaching soccer, Yengo teaches physical education classes in the Department of Kinesiology along with supervising student-teachers.

Yengo (b. 4/22/66) and wife Tracy are the parents of two daughters and two sons: Danielle (b. 11/17/98), Zachary (b.2/02/00), Sydnee (b. 10/3/02) and Christopher (b. 2/10/04).
