Field: Logan Koerten, Freshman, Plover, Wis./SPASH Koerten had one top finish this weekend at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational, as the Blugolds finished fourth out of eight teams. His leap of 22-0 ¾ in the long jump was the third longest in the WIAC this season.
April 14, 2008 - April 20, 2008
Track: Brian Christ, Senior, Arcadia, Wis. Christ was part of two first place finishes at the Phil Esten Challenge this weekend, where the Blugolds took second place out of seven teams. Christ finished with a time of 55.13 in the 400-meter hurdles for first place and also was part of the 4x400-meter relay that the team took the top spot. The team finished with a time of 3.23:89, more than five seconds faster than the second place finishers.
Field: Al Oleson, Senior, Wausau, Wis./West This weekend Oleson won the shot put and took second in the hammer throw at the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse. His throw of 49-5 ¾ in the shot put is the third best in the WIAC this season. In the hammer throw, Oleson tossed it 172-7 in his second place finish, which is the fifth furthest throw in the WIAC this season and an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance.

Track: Ben Pearson, Sophomore, Clinton, Wis. This weekend the Blugolds finished fourth of 14 teams at the UW-Oshkosh Invite. Pearson finished in first place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. His time of 10:06.60 was almost three seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
Field: Al Oleson, Senior, Wausau, Wis./West Competing at the UW-Oshkosh Invite this weekend where the Blugolds took fourth out of 14 teams, Oleson threw well in two events. In the men’s hammer throw, Oleson took the top spot with a toss of 179-11. He also placed second in the shot put with a throw of 49-3 ¾.

Track: 4x400 Relay Team (Justin White, Sophomore, Arcadia, Wis.; Tim Braunschweig, Sophomore, Mukwonago, Wis.; Brian Christ, Senior, Arcadia, Wis.; Chris Kupfer, Junior, Germantown, Wis.) The Blugolds’ 4x400m relay team took second at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational this weekend, helping the Blugolds to a third place finish out of 16 teams. The team ran to an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 3:19.04, also the fourth fastest time in the WIAC this year.
Field: Nick Desotelle, Junior, Weston, Wis./Schofield D. C. Everest The Blugolds finished third out of 16 teams at this weekend’s UW-Stevens Point. On their way to the third place finish, Desotelle took second in the pole vault. Desotelle’s vault of 15-1 ½ is the third best vault in the conference this season.

Field: Sam Johnson, Junior, Deer Park, Wis/Amery In the UW-Platteville Open this Saturday, Johnson placed second in the men’s weight throw. His throw of 18.19 meters (59’ 8 ¼”) is an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying score.

Track: Chris Wirtz, Sophomore, Weston, Wis./Schofield D.C. Everest Wirtz performed well for the Blugolds in their fourth place finish out of 10 teams at the UW-Stevens Point Eastbay Invite. Wirtz placed second in the 3,000-yard run with a time of 8:43.24.
Field: Logan Koerten, Freshman, Plover, Wis./SPASH Eau Claire finished fourth out of 10 teams at UW-Stevens Point’s Eastbay Invite. Koerten did well participating in two events at the meet. He took home first place in the long jump with a 6.47-meter jump and had a second place finish in the triple jump, jumping 13.48-meters.

Track: Frankie Adams, Junior, Burnsville, Minn. This weekend in UW-Stout Warren Bowlus Open, Adams ran in the 55-meter dash. He took first place with a time of 6.53.
Field: Sam Johnson, Junior, Deer Park, Wis./Amery Competing in two events this weekend at UW-Stout’s Warren Bowlus Open, Johnson picked up a first place finish in the weight throw and a ninth place finish in the shot put. In the weight throw, Johnson threw 17.29 meters to improve his provisional qualifying score, out-throwing the second place finisher by almost one meter. In his ninth place finish in the shot put, he threw 13.68 meters.

Track: Chris Wirtz, Sophomore, Weston, Wis./Schofield D.C. Everest In the Blugolds’ fourth place performance this weekend at the 20-team UW-Whitewater Invite, Chris Wirtz performed well with a third place finish in the 5,000-meter run. He finished with a time of 15:15.85, less than two seconds out of second place.
Field: Sam Johnson, Junior, Deer Park, Wis./Amery The Blugolds took fourth place of 20 teams at the UW-Whitewater Invite this weekend. For the Blugolds, Johnson placed first in the weight throw with a provisional qualifier throw of 17.23 meters.

Track: Zach Lee, Freshman, Ladysmith, Wis. Led Eau Claire to a 1-2-3 sweep of the 55-meter dash in the Blugold Open with a winning time of 6.52 seconds.
Field: Nick Desotelle, Junior, Weston, Wis./Schofield D. C. Everest Won the pole vault in the Blugold Open with a winning mark of 15 feet, beating out teammate Jae Erickson who went 14-9. The 17-year-old school indoor record in that event is 15-7, held by Shane Hernesman.
January 7, 2008 - January 13, 2008
Track: Justin White, Sophomore, Arcadia, Wis. The Blugolds opened their 2008 indoor season this weekend, traveling to the Badger Classic in Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday. White competed well this weekend, taking third in two events. In the 200 meter dash, White finished with a time of 23:09, losing only to unattached UW-Madison opponents. White was also part of the 4x400 meter relay team that took third place. They finished with a time of 3:26.49, again losing only to UW-Madison opponents.
Field: Sam Johnson, Junior, Deer Park, Wis./Amery In the Blugolds’ opening meet of the 2008 indoor track season on Saturday at the Badger Classic, Johnson finished strong, taking third in the weight throw. In the finals, Johnson threw for 16.96 meters, finishing more than one meter ahead of the fourth place finisher.
