BROHMER EARNS ALL-AMERICA HONORS IN HAMMER THROW

OSHKOSH – UW-Eau Claire men’s hammer thrower Ryan Brohmer (Sr.-La Crosse/Logan) advanced to the finals of the hammer throw finishing in seventh place at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by UW-Oshkosh here today at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Brohmer advanced to the finals after placing third in his flight with a throw of 176-7. In the finals Brohmer improved to 176-8 to finish in the top eight and earn All-America status. Kevin Becker of UW-La Crosse won the event with a toss of 198-10.

Brohmer becomes the first Blugold outdoor All-American since John Schuna earned such honors in the shot put in 2004 and is the first All-American in the hammer throw since school record holder Dan Schmidt accomplished the feat in 1992.
