MEN'S TRACK TAKES FOURTH AT POINTER INVITATIONAL
STEVENS POINT - The UW-Eau Claire men's indoor track and field team finished in fourth place out of 10 teams at the UW-Stevens Point Track Invitational here today at the final event before the conference indoor championships.
The Pointers claimed first place with 153.50 points while La Crosse took second with 135. Oshkosh finished in third place with 131.50 followed by the Blugolds with 85.
John Schuna (Jr.-Hudson) was the only Blugold individual to take first place in an event, as he won the shot put competition with a throw of 53-4 ¼.
Eau Claire also earned a first place finish from the 4x200 meter relay team that won in a time of 1:33.26.
The Blugolds performed well in the 3000 meter run as Ethan Kreul (Jr.-Poynette) took second place with a time of 8:42.52 while Adam Condit (Jr.-La Crosse/Central) took third with a time of 8:44.36.
Eau Claire will be in action next Friday and Saturday when they travel to Menomonie for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.
