MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD TAKES THIRD AT BORDER BATTLE
NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire men's track and field team took first place in five events in finishing third overall at the Border Battle held at the Tostrud Center on the St. Olaf campus.
John Schuna (Jr.-Hudson) dominated the shot put winning the event by over a meter with a throw of 16.31 meters. Shaun Marek (Jr.-Waunakee) put forth a strong showing in the triple jump winning with a jump of 13.5 meters.
Adam Condit (Jr.-La Crosse/Central) was victorious in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:05.14 while Adam Koger (Fr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) won the 600 with a time of 1:13.61. Jake Ebner (So.-Cameron) rounds out the Blugold winners with a win in the 1000-meter run in a time of 2:33.96.
St. Thomas came in first with a team score of 189 with host St. Olaf finishing second with 143 points. Eau Claire was right behind the Oles with a score of 142 with UW-Stout finishing last with 136 points.
Eau Claire will be in action next when they travel to Menomonie to compete in the Blue Devil Invite. The events are set to kick off at 4 p.m.
