BLUGOLD TENNIS TO HOST WIAC DUALS
EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team will host UW-Whitewater, UW-La Crosse and UW-Oshkosh at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Duals this weekend at the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center.
The Blugolds enter into the weekend with a 4-9 dual record. Eau Claire comes off a 6-3 win over St. Olaf in which they avenged an earlier 5-4 defeat. C
Chris Baga (Fr.-Duluth, MN/Marshall College Prep) had a strong weekend winning both his singles matches and pairing with Jeff Peterson (Fr.-Edina, MN) to go 1-1 at three doubles.
Whitewater comes in with an 11-8 record in duals including wins over La Crosse and Oshkosh. Derek Nelson holds the top Warhawk record with a 14-6 record between five and six singles.
La Crosse comes in riding an 11-game winning streak with an overall record of 15-3. The Eagles haven't lost in over a month when they fell 7-0 to Carleton College. Mike Mooren is 13-3 at four singles while Erik Krohn is 11-3 at three singles.
Oshkosh comes in with an 8-9 record and wins in 7 of their last 8 matches. Eric Aronson and Jeff Hagman share the top Titan record at 10-7.
The Blugolds will open up against Whitewater Friday at 3:30 p.m. Eau Claire will play Oshkosh at 9 a.m. and La Crosse 1 p.m. Saturday.
